Guidance issued by the HSE
Guidance is issued by the HSE through consultation with stakeholders as opinion of good practice. Guidance has no legal force, but because of its origin, it would be considered ‘persuasive’ in practice in lower courts, and useful in civil cases to establish reasonable standards of care.
You are free to take other actions in order to demonstrate compliance with the law, however.
