Reportable Cases
- Situations that should be reported to RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations):
- gas escape outside the tolerance of a tightness test
- uncapped open ended pipes connected to the gas supply
- appliances that are spilling products of combustion
- defective flues or chimneys that are not clearing flue gases
- appliances that should have a flue, but have not
- appliances with inadequate permanent ventilation
- appliances that are not suitable for use with the gas supplied
- appliances with inoperative safety devices
- appliances with connections made of unsatisfactory materials (garden hose)
- all illegally installed open flued appliances in bathrooms and shower rooms after 24th November 1984
- exposure to carbon monoxide or to unburned gas
- fire
- explosion
- 'Report of Dangerous Gas Fittings' form (2508/G2) should be send to the HSE office within 14 days of finding the dangerous gas fittings
- 'Report of Flammable Gas Incidents' form (F2508/G1)
