Wall Hung Basins
- gives you more floor space
- Available in 1 or 2 tap holes
- The vast majority of basins are wall hung
- basins are mounted to the wall with fixing bolts
- sometimes called Thru Bolts or Fischer Bolts
- do not come as standard with a basin
- basin fixing frame such as this Prozone frame - for installation onto a thin stud wall where additional strength is needed

Countertop Basins
- Sometimes referred to as ‘sit on basins’
- sit independently on a worktop surface
- basins are very heavy once filled with water
- Self Rimming Basin
- fitted into a cut-out with its rim standing above the countertop
- The rim must be sealed to the flat surface
- No mechanical fixings are necessary
- Undertop Fixing Basin
- A cut-out to match the inner bowl shape is made in the countertop and the basin is clipped to the underside of the countertop
- Primarily intended for countertops of real and simulated marble or other water-impervious material
- Semi-recessed Basin
- The basin fits part way into the countertop, leaving the front of the basin projecting
- Suitable for all types of standard countertop material
