Traditional siphon flush
- Rather than alter the cistern and siphon dimensions most manufactures chose to limit the volume of water used by fitting a removable plug in the siphon, which by its removal allowed air to break the siphon after 7.5 litres were discharged
Complying with the Water Regs
- If a syphon is used the invert of the siphon bend must be at the same level as the centre line of the inlet. If an overflow
does occur it is now permissible to allow it to discharge into the WC via the flushing mechanism and flush pipe
